Emerging out of London’s inner city of thriving British music is definitely an exciting, vibrant and fresh talent by the name of GTsolo. GT standing for “Great Talent” complements him well as the 22 year old South London resident has been praised repeatedly for his unique creation and sound of music combining the two heavyweights of Hip-hop and Grime. Credible for being not only an lyricist but also a producer, GT has been crafting his musical skills for over four years, starting from the early college days. This has been in a number of areas both individually and part of a collective.

Although still very much considered a new artist and still emerging, GT is no short of experience whether on the stage, in the studio or on radio.
During his early days of music, he regularly attended radio sets crafting his skills within the Grime genre, sets on stations such as at Axe Fm, Freeze Fm, Mixing radio, OnTop Fm and Elete Fm.

In 2008 GT released his first solo CD entitled ‘Tape Pack vol.1’ which received over 5000 downloads during the ‘Myspace era’. This was followed up by 2009’s release of ‘Tape Pack vol.2’ which allowed the room for a successful launch party with appearances by So Solid Crew & the Mitchell Brothers. After the release of his second Mixtape in 2009 GT embarked on showcases and performances in and around London including Sugar Reef, Sound Nightclub, Aura, Cro Bar, Plan B, Oceania and Liquid but to name a few. Alongside the numerous showcases he has also done successful performances at Universities and colleges including Kingston, South Thames, LSE Brighton, Middlesex, Brunel and Roehampton. GT has also participated in charity events for the ACLT, cancer awareness and anti gun crime campaigns.

Aside from being a lyricist, GT has also delved into acting, performing at a young age at his local theatre (Fairfield Halls) in numerous plays as well as participating in the British film ‘Goldfish Memoirs’. Other acting attributes include filming and directing in a first light film production entitled ‘Assassination Moonwalker’ and recently being an extra in the UK smash hit ‘Street Dance 3D’.

In 2010 GT released his first debut music video entitled ‘Best Out Ya Speakers’ produced by Grime Hit-maker Skeamz, also responsible for Chipmunk’s first debut music video ‘Who R Ya’. The song is scheduled for release on the highly anticipated CD, ‘Make Or Break Season’ out in 2011.

Early 2011 GTsolo looks to drop his latest offering, a promotional compilation of exclusive tunes and freestyles in the build up to the much anticipated pre -album. The CD is entitled ‘Grinding Sessions’. And will feature some of the finest emcees from the underground Grime/rap scene.

Definitely not one to sleep on.
